The bass in question was the full boat...five-piece neck-through, AAAA quilt maple top, gold hardware, abalone block inlays....it looks impressive as hell in photos and I loved it when I got it, but after awhile it just wore thin (like the gold plating). Too pimpy.
Flash is flash. Just how good does that hot chick look without makeup, without tight clothes, without her hair all done up and without high heels?
What do you think Pam Anderson is going to look like when she's 60? Ewwww.....
OTOH, classic beauties like Catherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn remained beautiful as they aged because it wasn't about the pumped up details.
When I got serious about marrying my wife when we were in our 20s, I stopped and considered what she'd look like in her mid-40s. I wasn't far off, thank goodness.
I, on the other hand, have not aged quite so well.
