Hello everyone--

I picked up an SR4 HS that has been converted into a SR4 "HSS."

I really would like to put it back to the original config. BTW--how many of you knew that a dummy coil was lurking underneath the pg??? As I suspected, that "single" coil really is not a single coil.

So, where can I get an original SR4 HS pickguard in white?

Comments, please!!! Should I keep it modded, or put it back?

Thank you,

Deaky

hey Deaky,

call customer service at 1-800-543-2255 they'll be able to sell you a pickguard over the phone.

As far as your bass goes. getting her back to normal should be as easy as plopping on a new guard so that the dummy coil goes back into hiding :)

good luck! and welcome to the forum,

Arin

Also, if you are looking for something different than standard, you should take a look at www.pickguards.us They have templates made up for the dual pickups already and they have a "few" alternative options.

Actually, it is a real pickup that you can hear. the difference is that you lose the single coil settings as envisioned by the factory. I figure they would have released it if it was worth being released as a 3 pickup instrument. As it was only released as a 2 pickup with a dummy coil speaks volume to me.

Screw the middle pickup down, pop a new pickguard on that sucker, and enjoy the power that is a humfree soloed neck and/or bridge single coil on a Stingray.
