Some of you may know that the Casey Lee Ball Foundations primary source of revenue is a charity golf tournament that raises over $500,000.00 each year for pediatric kidney disease. Each year I give out really hip great Tee prizes. Thi year I want to give out the 60 gb video ipods. Apple will sell them to me but no deal...strictly retail. My question is "do any of you forumites have any connections with Apple or a reseller that can give the CLB a little break?

There is a company here in Australia that sells them at a reduced "dealer" rate if you're buying at least 15 if I remember correctly.

If you want me to try to find them I'm happy to do it.

info from my apple friend (its not the best but it sounds decent)

phatduckk: < talks about the charity event >
apple friend: the apple stores will coordinate it and give a bulk discount
apple friend: that's the easiest way
phatduckk: anything else?
apple friend: ... and ask for the business sales lead
apple friend: they have standard discount structures for bulk
phatduckk: really?
apple friend: you bet

I know, it doesn't seem right to me either, but there it is.

Plus - he's funny and easy to get along with and he's a purdy good drummer. I think being Ben Oldtoe's brother must have something to do with it.

Just got off the phone with my vendor, he has to check with his management because Apple has strict rules about not discounting iPods. (Something about not wanting to 'cheapen' the brand or whatever..)

What color did you want, black or white? (No price difference) I assumed you want the one that does video.

Does the CLB have a tax exemption certificate for sales tax?

I'm awaiting an email with the outcome, and then I'll PM you.

bump

BP,

Just a little bump to see if you have found a suitable deal on those iPods. Hopefully your quotes have been rolling in.

Hey Mr. Ball, If you didn't find anything yet you can always talk to Shane the owner of the Mac Superstore and the iPod store in SLO, he is usually working there in the mac superstore, you can just ask for him. He is my friend and a friend of my dad's. He might be able to help.
