Well after much thought i have decided to special order a White Silo but can`t deside on Pearl or the natural white. On the Instrument page the pearll white looks more lively but its hard to tell and the dealer here carries no stock for me to compare before ordering.
I am ordering HSS config with vintage trem and either orange mist pickguard or plain white,,,with Maple neck.

The last two EBMM i ordered were fantastic with beautiful AAA necks and perfect finish (Axis Super Sport Honey burst and my BFR AL) Now i have two BFR Al`s but that`s another story....couldnt wait for my order and bought another to tide me over:).During the 8 month wait.

Anyway i am getting off topic i guess my hang up with Pearl anything is that when i was a kid only very uncool accordians came with pearl guards and knobs. But the comments that i have heard people on here make is that the Pearl White seems to have more of a lustre and stands out.....anyone have advice or been faced with this same desicion.I know it boils down to personal taste but you guys have been around here for awhile and i trust your opinions.

Thanks in advance
Parker

I was thinking about the same thing before I got my silhouette special, white or white pearl? I couldn't find any white pearl to see so I had to decide on classic white. As you said, on the web site pearl one looks better but perls is a shining color, not a lighter white as it seems on the web site. You can see the difference on the photos I attached. The photo of the pearl is little bit dark but it can give you an idea of what it is. The first one seems like white pearl but I'm not sure. The second one is natural white and the third one is my slio special :)

If I am using someone's photos please forgive me..

Classic white with maple is dull. Pearl white contrast well with the matte maple board. ;)

What neck did you choose with your classic white Haken?

Parker, this has been discussed in some other threads, but yea, I hated the originals and swapped them for AT-1 bridge, Cruiser ( bridge ) in the middle and Fast track1 in the neck.

I absolutely love this combination.

When you get yours, I'm sure you'll love it eithar way.

Go with Pearl, it's beautiful.:D

Your not the first person i have heard that has disliked the stock pickups in the silo.I have no quams about changing out pickups if i am dissatisfied with them but will try them out first...i am more of a Seymore Duncan Man and have used Jeff Beck Jr, Little 59's, and Duckbuckers in my single spots many times.....but nothing beats a good humbucker full size in the bridge.

The stock pickups are nice, but depends on what you're looking for tone wise. They are more traditional vintage style voiced pickups I would say but more modern at the same time, with the silent circuit and all.
Thats said I switched them as well to an Air Zone for bridge, Fast Track 1 middle and Cruiser Bridge for neck (Reverse of Wolf5150's neck and middle combo hehe). Loving the tones coming out of this guitar now...just wish I had a better amp to play through :(.

Actually I had the exact same dilemma, I went with the White Pearl, and I never looked back!

Seriously, the White Pearl looks AWESOME! I was afraid that it would be like all sparkly in a cheesy kind of way, but it's definitely not. Actually I have a White AL and a White Pearl Silo Special in front of me as I write this, and I can't help wishing the AL was also in Pearl! It's pretty much the same color-wise, but MUCH more alive!

White Pearl - GO FOR IT!

Mine is rosewood because I didn't like unfinished maple fretboard. Actually I was going to buy maple but when I tried the guitar in the store it wasn't like I imagined. My fingers didn't slide on the fretboard well. Also unfinished maple becomes darker and dirty in few years. If you like vintage look it's ok but if you want your guitar look new all the time you need to effort too much to keep it new. The guitar in the sotre can never be like a guitar at home. I am sure if it were my guitar, it could be in a better condition and maybe I would be happy with maple one but I still went for rosewood because it was smoother for me at that point. Note that, MusicMan maple necks are not finished like Fenders but some players find it really comfortable. It is completely your choice.

Stock single coils sounds a bit weaker at first but if you replace the strings with 10's you can recognize the difference. If you like bright wintage output these are really good but if you need more powerful sound you will replace them. I'am still with the stock pickusp and really happy with the humbucker.
