I have a sterling bass playing thru a hartke 3500, with 8 10's. I need to know where to set the compresser level. should i set it until the red light flashes or just the green light. also when i play it with my fingers i get a very high end popping of the strings, what do i do :

Got a manual for the compressor?

If not, could you find one on-line?

I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I set my 3500's compressor level so that the light just flickers when I'm playing normally.

You want to set it where the red light flashes occasionaly, not solid red. Adjust it up the harder you play, and lower the quieter. Hope this helps.
