No other player in history was more of an insperation for me, and strangely his rhtyhm playing actually had more of an impact on me than his lead work. Cant beieve the 18th will be 40 years, man I am getting old.lol
The older I get the more I love his playing. The more music I hear, the more I hear his influence on the poeple that followed. When I started out it was all metal for me, I really didn't get what all the fuzz about Hendrix was about. But the magic that was JH has really hit me in the years after. Amazing!
Pretty much turned the guitar world on its head did JH
Can't believe 40 yrs have gone by.... makes you wonder what and how would Jimis music have developed to had he another 10 yrs or more to express himself. We can thank him not just for his own music but all the other guitar greats that he influenced and pushed along into a new direction
Maybe those geniuses are destined to have a short candle life
Just had a live talk about Hendrix on a radioshow. Reminded myself (and the listeners) again how great he really was as a musician.
What totally bothers me is that no german TV channel has anything on Hendrix in their eveing programme tonight. Something goes terribly wrong in this world...
When I say how much of an impact his rhythm playing had on me you can also hear it in a ton of other players SRV-Lenny, Keith Richards-Beast of Burden,John Frusciante-Under The Bridge,Mike McCready- Yellow Ledbetter, Jeff Beck-People Get Better and half of whatever John Mayer plays to name a few.lol
