Hi all,

New to EBMM and this forum. Just orderd my First American Made Guitar after looking for Years..... Trans Blue Axis W/floyd. So excited!!! Purchased a blem axe that and thats why i am writing today.....I purchased from a dealer listed on the MM site fyi. The guitar has a chip about the size of a BB just below the trem on the high side. The Shop said it happend becasue someone depressed the trem and let it go...it smacked the face and chipped the paint. The pictures i saw and the description of the issue is that you only see it when you pull the trem down. My quesiton is how many of you have has something similar onthe face of your ax....is this something that i could send back to mm and have fixed at my cost?

Also, what is the warranty on MM products?

If it's the same one that's been on eBay, it's a UPS casualty - damaged during shipping. I don't know if those still apply under the original warranty. I honestly think that they are buyer beware.

i found it through the dealer site directly. They are a lic. MM dealer...Was told that it was new and all the factory warr. still applies to the construction and components. I was told the nick occured while at their store on the floor or during set up. The only issue he said that i may have with MM would be trying to warranty the damage becasue it didt leave as a factory blem.

Pretty sure its listed on the dealer inventory on the MM site so i think its all good.

We will see...

I will chcek ebay and see if i can find the one you are talking about.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum !

I'm sure you're not going to get EBMM to cover that under warranty.

You would have bought it at a discounted price due to the damage that occurred in-store.

i.e the dealer is taking the hit on their profit because it was their mistake.

You benefit from getting a new (albeit slightly tarnished) guitar at a reduced price.

It'll be up to you to fix it.

Chip or not, you've got a great guitar mate :)

Yea, thats what they told me. As in my first post, would this be something that I send back to MM for repair at my cost?? Looks like the answer is yes. Chaces are it will be just fine....its going to get dinged up anyway.By the way...paid $1300.....think thats a fair price? Still dont know the factory warr on components?? Any idea?

Ryand,

Great choice!! As far as the "chip" don't lose any sleep over it, not even worth a phone call to anyone.

It just saved you the time and effort to put the first chip in it. As I recommend to anyone, wait until you've accumulated enough dings, scratches and chips to warrant a refinish down the road.

Get your use out of it, enjoy it - anything on a guitar can be returned to absolute new state!!!:)

Is that the one at Wild West? If so, I've seen it in person and the nick is not that bad. In fact, you can dab it with a black sharpie and no one would know the difference. It's a beautiful guitar.

I've spent a lot of money with those guys. Regarding this guitar, I played it for a few minutes last week (no, I wasn't the one who was playing bombardier on the tremolo!). It's got a great vibe to it, and the top really has to be seen in person to be appreciated. I think you're going to be real happy with this guitar.

They come with 9's.

My Axis has been with me since Monday. It is just creamy to play. You will love it.....believe me. I'm putting up a bunch of my "other guitars" for sale, since after just over a year of looking at everything (I look by buying used and trying it out for a while), I've found my perfect guitar.

Sounds like you have got a great axe there despite the nick. The normal dealer warranty is 12 months from date of purchase as new but if the nick is not a big deal and it plays well, why worry?

Welcome to the forum. You're amongst good comapny here.
