Guys -

What gauge strings do you put on your ALs? Have you tried other gauges? What were your experiences with them? Thanks for the info.

When I had mine I put 10's on it first thing, but ended up going back to 9's on all of my guitars.

I like the ease of bending with the 9's especially with the hardtail, there wasn't a lot of give with the 10's. I didn't notice any change in tone going from the 10's to 9's. Just personal "playability" preference.

I don't do a lot of bends or anything so I like 11s. But as my technique evolves I may eventually go down, because it really is more difficult (and more importantly, hard on the joints) to bend with big strings.

Like Komp says. Skinny top, Heavy Bottom, especially on a hardtail. The heavy bass end just chimes when you strike a chord and yet the 10 gauge high end means you can still pull on the bends and vibrato stuff..

I like 10s. They seem to strike a good balance between bend-ability and solid tone.

I liked these stainless ones but have RPS back on at the mo.

I was kinda worried about the hard stainless steel wearing out the nickel frets.
I switch between 9's and 10's.

10-13-16(all RPS)-26-36-46 Just as it came from the factory.

I always wanted to try a stright set of 10's (kind of a pain to order the strings individually, wish there was a factory set), but didn't want to worry about having to file the nut to fit and re-intoneate.

Besides, the 10-13-16-26-36-46 setup feels good to me, don't see a reason to change...
