and find my '00 Sterling (s/n F02921) bunzup...

actually, yes.. I wanted to check out how the dummycoil thing was interfaced. I have this perverse thing about always taking new stuff apart. I'm a F*@#$r factory certified tech, (big deal, huh? so's my monkey) so I have a license to put a pointy tool pretty much wherever I like.. dangerous guy, I am..kinda like the goofball in the dragster in the "That thing got a hemi?" ads..

Well, I admire that....um...sense of adventure. I am what you might call 'dangerous' with a soldering iron in hand.

I don't mind replacing strap buttons or pickguards, but once wires become unattached, I begin to sweat.

Welcome to the forum, btw.

I've been known to wreck stuff with positive grounds and left-handed threads, but I'm pretty safe around most everything else..
Speaking of "sense of adventure", I showed up at my first GB gig back in the 70's with an unlined fretless..reading, no less.. talk about feeling like my pants were on fire...sheesh.. That makes taking things apart seem quite relaxing by comparison..

best,
newt
