I have a Sterling H, HS, and HH how about a SS? I know I can get an SS configuration out of my HS and HH but I want a true SS. The Big Al has SSS so why not tweek that a bit to a SS in a Sterling. Keep everything else the same (3-way switch = bridge, bridge&neck, and neck pups, volume, treb, mid, and low). Who's with me? Come on EB/MM what do you think?

That would never happen as it would be too close to a jazz bass. I believe EBMM is about more innovation and less imitation.

Yes and no to the similarities to a Jazz bass. 3way switch vs separte volumes (or a blend pot). With a switch your getting the p/u full on or off no blend and one could say the Big Al is like a Strat.

Is that a real Sterling or photoshop? I wasn't thinking of 3 single coils like on a Big Al but I'd take that. I might just have to modify a HS into a SS. It might work.

I was waiting for someone to say that, because this thread seriously needs a pair of cement shoes and dropped at the bottom of a lake.

Why not a Big Al? Because I don't like the body shape of the Big Al at all, but sure I'd take its p/u configuration on a Sterling. For me the Sterling is where its at that's why I have three of them.

Who owns that? Is it a prototype from back in the day?

Bovinehost, you know you like the Pink Noise in all her pinkness.
