Hey folks, MM noobie here, please help..Are MM Stingray and Sterling cases same?

My MM Sterling bass needs a factory case(I want a factory MM case), and need to know with 100% certainty, will the sterling fit correctly and snugly in a Stingray case?? I know Stingrays are bigger so naturally a Ray wouldnt fit in a Sterling case, but will a Sterling work and not slide around in a Ray case?
If anyone has a 4 string Stingray and a Sterling, PLEASE answer back here as soon as possible(ASAP!!)if anyone knows whether a Sterling will fit correctly in a Stingray case and not slide around, please let me know(Id like to get one of the tolex anniversay cases that I think only came with the Stingrays and want to be sure it would fit though a molded case will suffice if its all I can find)..Thanks!!

The Sterling is the only EBMM bass with a different case. The Sterling case is smaller.

thanks for the fast reply Bryan.. so could I still in fact use say a Stingray or Sabre case and not have to worry about my Sterling sliding around inside of it (i want it to be safe and not at risk of getting damaged)?

I wouldn't do it...not when a new one from GC is only $120. A Sterling will not fit snugly in a Stingray/Bongo case.

That's really interesting, because from the looks of my new 2007 molded case, I thought they were made so that all MM basses (Sterling, StingRay, StingRay 5, even the Bongo) left or right handed would fit into them.

I noticed that my 2007 StingRay case is about 5 cm longer than my 2000 StingRay case, there's more room for the headstock -- I guess for the Bongo.

The Sterling will fit in a Stingray case but the fit will be a little loose. When I purchased the Sterling I had, they gave me a Stingray case by mistake. I did get the correct case about 8 months latter.
