Hey Jon,do you remember I was asking you i have a naked metal wire on my aixs that has one end doesnt connect anywhere. you told me that one should go from ground lug and the other said should be touched the back of control cover.

How can I keep it touching the cover all the time?

And what will be the effect if it doesnt?

Thank you very much!

To keep the control cavity fully shielded (and prevent the switch, knobs, etc from picking up noise) the cover has to be grounded.

If that's a ground wire (which I think it was from the discussion but can't quite remember ...) then you can let it rest on the body of the guitar, just at the edge of the cavity, so that the cover will sit on top of it and be physically in contact.

If you don't the shielding will be less effective and you might be subject to a bit of background hum.
