Please help me out with the following question I posted in another (but well ignored) thread (RE: the silent switching system):

Is it possible to install this aftermarket on other guitars? For example, I've split the pot in my Axis, but don't care for the hum in the 1st and 3rd positions with distortion. Can I install the silent switching? Is it even available for sale? What about installing in a non-EBMM guitar? Would it affect the tone? Any help, greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm not Jon ... but thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Yes, I believe you can wire it up in just about any application; it's not pickup-specific. The problem is getting one- like other parts, I don't think EBMM'll let 'em go unless it's for a replacement. That said, I'm sure you can find one eventually on the 'bay- they do come up from time to time.

As for affecting the tone, that's subjective. I've heard people say that the silent circuit affects one's tone, but to be honest I can't hear that myself. I don't notice much of a tonal difference except the lack of hum ;)

Well, I'm not Jason, but he is right. It could be used in different applications, and no, you won't get one from us.
