As much as I love the idea of a piezo equipped guitar, I am questioning wether I really need it or not. I could always get it on my second purchase which might be a hard tail. I'm not sure if I really like the idea of only being able to push down on the trem because of the piezo.
Now I tried a guitar with piezo but the amp was a regular amp so I didn't get to appreciate it's full abilities.

If any of you have a clip that you could post of a piezo in use, I would really appreciate it. I have yet to hear this beautiful sound everyone keeps talking about.

IMHO the piezo is a valuable option. However, it's full potential can only be realized if using a full range amp (ie-a PA system with tweeters/horns OR a good acoustic amp)
It's a great guitar to cover many bases live! BTW, Parker has a very nice sounding piezo system also.

I occasionally use it live (when I remember to bring an extra cable) and love using both signals simultaneously. It makes it sound like there is another guitar (acoustic) backing up the electric. Very interesting and fun sound.

But I'm assuming you're using a Pet.
No issues with the trem and has that beautiful switch to make things easier!

I'm just wondering if I'd miss the ability to pull up on the trem!?

So does anyone have any piezo clips they'd care to share???

I have a JP6 w/ Piezo - the trem works up or down perfectly and the sound isn't affected. I think the choice to get one really depends on what type of music you play. I write progressive metal, with lots of dynamics - acoustic intro, overdriven verse & pre-chorus, acoustic & electric on chorus, Acoustic only bridge, super overdriven crescendo, acoustic outro . . .

You get the idea. In the old days I used to have to switch guitars a lot. The piezo fixes that - I can play a complete piece on one guitar. Now if you're playing something like Blink 182 that's all one sound it might not appeal to you.

Thanks. The JP has the best of both worlds regarding the trem/piezo combination.
I on the other hand am looking to get a Silo with Vintage Trem. When with a piezo, the trem can only dive down and not pull up. That is why I'm wondering!

I think the vintage trems are set to lowers pitch only on the piezo and non piezo equipped silos. You can always set them to float yourself. Even if you only use the piezo once you will love it. <jedi force wave>

Why can't you pull up the tremolo with a piezo bridge? Would the crystals / sound be damaged / effected?

It's great I can now offer advice 'cos I have a ball!!

There is no problem with the piezo and my trem on the AL. Foggy the sound of a piezo is awesome
- when I first heard it through an acoustic amp I felt as thogh somebody had hit me in the stomach -such was the "rush". You just have to get a piezo
