Hey guys. Listen... idk if its a common occurance or whatnot but my high e on my Petrucci wasnt staying in tune ( going out by a whole step or more) with the lock tuners fully locked. Could i have possibly stripped the tuner??? i would keep winding it up and it would go out, finally popping and going really flat. I just hope this isn't somthing thats going to cause a problem. I hate shipping something, especially when i dont have a backup petrucci like most of my commrades here ( ahem, orange haha) anyways... let me know what chya'll thank k? hahah

God bless,

Hi maybe you tightened the locking tuner too heavy in the past and now the string is slipping in a small slot through the locking machine???
Change the b-machine to the e-position, when the detuning is now away there you go.

Can't say I have ever had that problem with any of mine......

I would check out OC's suggestions and before I got really worried. Dude has gotten me through some weird stuff in the past.

Hope it works out for ya....good luck.

yeah i use the graphite stuff every string change and the trem is parallel to the body. this is STRICKLY a tuner peg issue IMHO. so... with that in mind can you tell me if its possible to strip the locking mechanism? i know yoru not supposed to tighten them too tight and i dont THINK i have but maybe i did and screwed it up, but then again maybe it was just a bunk string....idk. let me know what you think OC. IM me if you want and we'll chat some more.

God bless,
