I'm assuming that the new dual-pickup SR5s will be wired in series, so I'm wondering what tonal differences there will be between them and the parallel dual-pickup SR4s. I know there are other differences between the SR5 and SR4 to consider, but I would think that the big difference would be series vs. parallel and I'm curious as to what difference that makes.

I didn't think of that. According to the schematic, the 20th SR5 is parallel. The mahogany tone block might be a big factor though.

I was wondering if the Stingray 5 was going to change to parallel, which would make the sound closer to the Stingray 4.

Well, yeah he did say that about the SR5 and Sterling since they both share the ceramic pickups. Remember, he said this before the 20th came out. But the upcoming SR5 will proabably be parallel like the 20th was.

I don't know about you guys...and maybe I just need to get a life, but this stuff thrills me. Someone, who also posts here, said on another forum that EBMM is losing focus. I jumped on the bandwagon less than a year ago, but can't imagine a better time to watch all of this happen as it's happening.

Don't change a thing! I am more than happy BP with what you are turning out. I can get a bit impatient at times, but I think that is only natural when you are excited about what is around the corner. I love the new tonal options I am getting with the 20th SR5!

Im not hurt or bothered...I know that people say things and losing focus is just one of many...

I guess we should have stopped at the stingray.

I guess I have to admit that I'm pretty glad you didn't stop with the Stingray.

Without the Bongo, I'd be just....Lord.

Same here, but I have to say that the thought of a new SR5 that sounds something close to a 20th puts the Bongo 3rd on my list with the Sterling5 at the top.

I guess we should have stopped at the stingray.

I love my 30th Stingray. But I can see so many options in my ( and others) future - SR5, Bongo, Bongo 5 or a Sterling 5. Who knows, there are so many options. Within those there are even more pickup combos. Keep doing what you do so well. Creative people with a vision are restless by nature. So I think it would have been impossible for you not to push forward. The only person I know that wishes you stopped with the Stingray is my wife.:D
