Hi everybody! This is my first post in this forum. I just got my Musicman LUKE today after waiting for over 2 months. It´s otherwise a great guitar apart from the fact that the high e-string slips.

There is VERY little space between the e-string and the side of the neck and I don´t think it´s supposed to be. Look at the picture of the neck. The space is good at the 1st fret but after that it the string goes down. What can I do to it, as I can´t even play a simple chord properly without the e-string slipping away from the neck, let alone bend or playing vibrato.

Also the strings a very slippy, which makes it impossible to bend a string alot without it slipping on the strings top of it. Is it the nature of Super Slinky strings or is it beacuse the strings are so new?

Thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome - nice Luke!!
I'm assuming that since you've been waiting 2 months its a new guitar, in which case your best bet would be to give the dealer a call in the first instance - I'm sure they'll check it out and sort it if there's an issue.

my EVH has this issue to a very slight extent, most likely less than yours. I can certainly fret chords, play on the E string, vibrato the string and everything, only occassionally does it slip over the corner of the fret. It always kind bothered me, but never enough to do anything about it.

Sounds like yours is bad enough that you should do something about it, especially since it's a new guitar. It's not something you should have to deal with for the life of the guitar.

Big Welcome to the Forum.

Yeah the golden rule is check Customer Service - however your first course of action would be to refer it to the authorised EB dealer you got it from.

let us know how you get it sorted (as I'm sure that it will be).

oh yeah and stick around and have some fun here too?

If it is a new guitar ordered from your local distributor you should not have any trouble with getting this issue sorted out.

1. Contact your dealer
if this does not work...
2. Contact your lokal distributor

3. Contact EB customer service. They will help you for sure as they're the best in business!
