I really liked a Silhouette I played at GC - but the 10" radius is a little too curved for my preferences. I really like flatter radius guitars say 16" Ibanez's, but it seems that isn't an option or available on anything but the JP model (which I don't care for as I like HSH layouts).

Can one order say a 16" radius neck on a Silhouette somehow, ie is there a "Custom Shop"?

Unfortunately that is impossible at the moment. They just announced a Ball Family Custom Shop, but I personally dont believe it will be open for anyone to order whatever they want. I know what you mean about the 10" radius though. I got used to it when I was playing my Silhouette guitars, but then I got my Y2D and the 12" feels much better. Now I also have another guitar with a 16" radius and I'm liking it as well. Great for bends and legato and also string skipping stuff.

The Silo is 10". The Reflex is the same neck carve but with a 12" radius. However, if you played and liked the guitar, what's in a number?

Completely agree with the post above...I think we, as guitarists, can get too caught up in specs and numbers....if it felt great, who cares that it's a rounder radius?

Isn't the Reflex and the Luke basically the same neck profile (front and backside)?

No, not at all. The Luke is a v shape neck and the Reflex/25th is more of a C shape. The Luke neck feels very small compared to the Reflex. But both do have 12" radius

thanks, too bad I can't get a more custom neck. The Silhouette felt great but I could feel the 10" radius was holding me back on more sweep-picking kinds of things.

The Steve Morse guitars (standard or Y2D) have a 12" radius and if you like the Silo, I'm sure you will like them.
Besides, I'm sure that after a few hours, you will adjust to any radius.

Just sent my Axis in for a (stainless steel) refret. It'll probably get a 10-12" compound radius while it's in the shop.

Hey, someone correct me if I'm wrong! My understanding is that you cannot change the radius (fretboard) with "fret" modification/installation, due to the fact it is a permanent "wood carve" - correct??

The "back profile" can be changed/modified by sanding etc. . ., however you may have side fret markers and perhaps side inlay to deal with as an issue - correct??
