Who has one, how well does it work, what are the pro's and cons, tricks etc. What was the fitting cost and how to set one up, any and all tips greatly appreciated.

Many thanks friends.

I have one on my Stingray, and I am very glad with it. It's easy to install, and works well. There really is noty much to it, to only thing you should remember that, although it's a lever, be easy when you flick it. If you do this with too much enthousiasm, it can get out of tuning.

Since our band plays songs in 'D' and in 'E', all together during a set or performance, it's very helpfull for me.

And another wonderfull, and free!, part of the D-tuner is that you get the face of your guitar player when he notices how easy youcan D-tune..

They are great especially when every other song seems to be in "E" and "D"...keeps that uncomfortable dead space out of a set...

I´ve had a d-tuner on my 20th anni 4-string since it was new. Over 12 years now and I´ve used it alot. Just love those things. Works very well. I´m so happy with it that I installed d-tuners on 4 more Stingrays just a couple of weeks ago.

I´ve not really had time to try the new Hipshot BT1 d-tuners for more than some hours yet but I found this thread here on the forum just now:

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/30371-slight-o-t-new-hipshot-extenders-blow-old-hipshot-extenders-gold.html

The one I´ve had since -96 is exactly as the new ones I got but I´ve not had time to test the new ones more than for about 6 or 7 hours yet. But no problems at all during that time. They stay in tune and they work exaktly as the old one. So I´m happy.

Sincerely//Jan

The only thing I don't like about them is that the four mounting screws which hold the tuner in place have a slightly larger diameter than the EBMM originals. Therefore you can end up not being able to revert back to the original tuner with original screws.

Everything else is fine. You can even get a tapered string post if you ask the Hishot guys when ordering.

However, at the moment I've run out of use for it since we play no more songs in D.
