...there's a big possibility that I will receive some money I wasn't expecting after selling a property I have with my mom and brothers. If that happens, I will order my fretless Bongo sooner than expected! I'm starting to fantasize with this and I know what color it will be: Desert Gold. Problem is: I haven't decided between two options I have for the pickguard: Black pearloid or python. I have a really cool picture of a desert gold Bongo with a BP pickguard, but can't find a good one showing the python. Could you please help me finding one? Aside from this, for those of you who have seen these pickguards (or maybe the color combo) in person, which one do you like the most? I know, I know... opinions are like... but anyway I'd like to hear from you. Thank you in advance! :)

P.S.: Does the fretless Bongo come with flatwound strings installed?

Nope, comes with the roundwounds. And just my opinion, DG looks bad with dark colored pickguards.

I'm with pequenojinete. I think DG looks better with a white pg. Psychicpet might be able to help out tho'. I recall seeing a picture of his 5'er with a dark pg.

Here's the picture I mentioned: Desert gold Bongo with black pearloid pickguard. I like it.

I was going to go white pearloid or white ice for my DG Bongo, but I decided on the same combo Psychicpet has. The red/brown of the tort sort of makes the DG pop a bit more IMHO.

ya, the Tort p/g looks really good on the Desert Gold finish. it'd be interesting to see the look of the python though...... maybe I should get one o those too, to go with my new Waterbuffalo Horn knobs.....
