You have probably noticed this, but suddenly, everything OLP is disappearing from the web. First, their official myspace. Then, online retailer inventory. Now, several auctions from reputable dealers claim that the MM-series is out of production.

What's the official word on this, if you don't mind me asking?

I was wondering about this myself. I searched for a more detailed thread, but no joy - I'd appreciate the link if anyone has it.

I just purchased (well, back in October '07) a OLP TL (natural). I'm primarily a guitarist, but I needed a bass for the demos and have always enjoyed playing. I just always borrowed someone else's.

Heh, funny; same thing happened right after I bought my Kramer.

I bleeb that BP has said the licensing agreement has expired and will not be renewed.

I think I remember reading that as well... There is too much knowledge on this forum. I'm going to have to start taking notes :p

Does this mean its the OLP's will become the collectors items??? Short run, good value, unique look (as in not direct tele/strat or LP/SG copy) -

Kind of like the ridiculous prices people are paying for those old Silvertone guitars from the Sears catalogues in the 60's.

Hold on to them guys - Probably take a while though.

Of course they will. I know because I just sold mine for what I thought was a good price compared to what I paid. In 10 years, it should be worth a ridiculous amount of money. :D
