Just got my first Cutlass SSS and absolutely love it - a real modern classic. I've got a new pickguard on order to wire up a full circuit drop-in high output set of single size humbuckers just to see how it screams. Has anyone replaced the stock pups with higher output 'buckers? What have you put in and how have the results been? I'm leaning toward a SD Hot/Vintage/Cool Rails combo at the moment and would love any feedback from anyone who's done something similar.

Congratss!!! Be careful I'm pretty sure that the body is routed for 3 singles and that full size humbuckers won't fit. I don't have one, but maybe someone with one will chime and let you know.

Oh it doesn't exist without pictures!!!!

He mentioned using single coil sized humbuckers in his post, not full size.

Congrats!!! As Glenn said - we have unwritten rules here - without pictures it don't exist.

I will tell you - you might try those stock pickups a bit before changing them out. They sound really good clean and with gain/dirt etc. The nice thing about lower output pups is one can turn the amp up a bit more which isn't a bad thing!!!!

Yeah no complaints with the stock pups. This will be a separate fully loaded pickguard with a different personality altogether. Cranky Cutlass.
