2010 I believe. Not sure how many were made along with the black magic crystal, but there were not a whole lot of them.

Reviving this as I just found a brand, spankin' new one at my local GC at a most awesome price. I was looking for an EVH variant with an eye towards EB. Could not have worked out better. For the price of an import EVH.... a new USA EB! Ya-hoo!!!!!!!!

This hot rod red 2010 with Floyd, worths more than an 2010 "regular" Axis?
It's just a color. Axis unless they are limited runs seem to go for around the same ball part. Guitars sell for how much someone wants to buy them for. I remember seeing a Hot Rod Red ASS in GC, great paint job. I thought the Black Magic Crystal was a better color, though I tend to favor sparkles and flake paints myself.

Yup, but just watch it, again exactly the same guitar just different paint. If you seeing it on Reverb, some of people are nuts price wise in my opinion. I understand people trying to get the most for a guitar, but I've some listed lately for ridiculous prices.
It's all in the eye of the beholder man. A lot of people will buy one cheaper and have it repainted. Get the color you've always loved. As BP says make it your way.
