all folks,

anyone try this pickup, Basslines (S.Duncan) SMB before ?
how is the SMB system sound ? is it better than stock pickup ?

i would like to change my StingRay5 stock-humbucker.
if i install this new pickup & preamp system,
i need to give up my 3-way blade switch, right ?

thanks for your reply.

Hi Kurt,
I have a SR4 and have fitted the SD preamp in it. I also rewired the pick-up from parallel to series. To my taste it has more bottom end and the mid range sweep is more accentuated now. I algo like the mid-range-cut when pulling the volume knob, good for Latin or reggae.
Over all I think the sound improved becoming a bit more versatile, I didn't want to change the pick-ups because I heard there was no real need for it.
Cheers
Gus
