The Luke neck is quite V-ish, at least it felt so to my hand. Great for thumb-over playing, and to me, had the best fretboard I've ever played on. I love the size.

The Luke has the smallest necks of all my guitars. With that being said, it's one (if not ) the best feeling and playing necks I've ever had.

As has been said, the Luke is very V and the Pet is thin. I have both. I don't however, think the Pet neck is wide at all. Just thin. I have small hands and that neck makes them feel HUGE. ;)

Yes, the Luke neck is a definite V and the Petrucci has sort of a shallow D.

Morse and Luke have the same nut width, but different width at last fret.

Frets are a little bigger on the JP too. I would say the JP has a super fast neck. While the Luke is merely very fast. ;) I think the Luke would be a great compliment to the JP. You would have country to deathmetal covered!

Random, have you tried the Silo yet? You might want to give that a shot. It seems a lot of people that own JP's really like the Silo's.

OrangeChannel use to be a huge JP lover and now a Silo supporter.

Just a thought. Good luck, Glenn |B)

Like others have said the Luke is for V shap and the Pet is more D shaped.

I prefer the Luke neck over the Pet neck, it just feels more comfortable to me.

I had a Luke but brought it back. I prefer the wider area at the nut of the JP neck and it just has a more natural feel in my hand.

I don't know how similar the 20th Anniversary Silo neck is to the regular Silo. If it's the same, well...I guess add me to the group of people who are big JP6 fans who like Silos. I still love the Luke neck too, though. Definitely going to get one of those.

I haven't tried the Silo yet. I have played a Morse though. Ever since I got my EBMM guitars, I haven't thought about trying another brand, since my JP is everything I want from an axe.
I'd just like to add another EBMM or two to the stable :)
