How do I maintain the EBMM JP6 Neck?

I know I should be using Gunstock oil still, but it's quite hard to come by here. What would be a good alternative, especially since Singapore has high humidity and warmth (approx 30 deg) all year round? The guitar is mostly in the hardcase, and taken out weekly for jam sessions. Doodling at home is done on another guitar.

What do I need to rub the neck down with, and how often?

I just got my JP new a few weeks ago and haven't put anything on the neck yet... is this bad?

I haven't done anything to my Luke's neck except use the fretboard Wonder Wipes on every time I change strings. Still plays like it did the day I got it

Hi guys,
I bought the full Wonder Wipes program when they became available here in Germany and after applying the first "fretboard conditioner" wipe to a fretboard and reading something here in this forum about the formula, I also applied it to the necks of my two Silhouette Specials. This seems quite perfect to me. Nice feel and nourishing of the necks. Applied it to my Axis necks, too - same wonderful effect there, too.
Nevertheless - I had Mick take care of two of the necks some time before with the originally recommended treatment (Birchwood-Casey products) and that was fantastic, too. I'd say that - depending on how often and how hard you use and abuse your guitars, treating the necks with Wonder Wipes does a good job and in my case (as a home & fun session player who does not really gig around) having the necks taken care of with oil & wax once in 1,5 to 2 years will do, too.
You might get your hands on Birchwood-Casey products through gun stores or ironware shops if there are any in your area.
Just have a look around for them, but I guess Wonder Wipes by now should be available pretty much everywhere in the world ?!

So the formula isn't like a lemon oil that is only supposed to be used on the rosewood, it's ok to clean the back of the neck as well? If so, that's excellent! I went in this weekend to order the lrg. wipes pkg. I'm anxious to see how they work, especially to bring the shine back on the body of my JP6. I've heard good things.

Apparently they don't. There's a control in the US about shipping chemicals or something out of the States. I couldn't even buy Nitro cellulose from the US for my project guitar. Had to be locally sourced...

Speaking of the neck, best neck I've ever played. Not because of it's dimensions or anything, but I think the unfinished wood is just fantastic.

I agree - and my JP is a 2002. The only "oil" it ever gets is from my hands. It is still smooooth as silk.
