You turn the wheel on the back of the tuner counter-clockwise to open the lock on the sting inside the post hole, then pull out the old string and replace it as you would any other... When you run the new string through the hole in the tuning post, you pull it tight, then turn the locking wheel clockwise until it grabs the string and holds it. Torque it down with your fingers so it won't slip, but try not to over-tighten it... You then tune normally and trim off any exess string when you're done... You do not have to wrap the strings around the post with locking tuners...
