I know the hex nut tightens the trems rotation stiffness, but is there a way to tighten the arm? There is some play in mine and sometimes the vibration of the strings goes through to the arm and vibrates it a bit.

There's a hex nut on the block side of the trem that will need to be tightened. You will probably have to take the trem off the guitar to get to it. I had to do this on an Axis.

Also, you may need a drop of Loc-Tite (the blue bottle. don't use the red stuff) to help hold it tight.

Edit. Here's a link to a thread I started. Don't know if it describes what you're having.

Thank you...I do believe that addresses what I am after. Did you have to add a washer or was there enough room to tighten it more to get the arm to be completely stable?

There was enough room to tighten it. The drop of Loc-Tite really helped the most. My my Axis, the bolt was already tightened down as much as it could go, but it still had some play in it.

The blue formula makes it so that you can actually loosen the bolt if needed. The red formula more or less permanently bonds the metal together, so the bolt is stuck wherever you leave it.

Not sure I understand. You said it was down as much as it could go, but still had play in it...did you torque it more and get that play out of it? I am trying to get that bit of play out of mine and I can see the nut is all the way down. Not sure if I will be able to turn it more and if it will take that out.

The problem with the trem arm on my Axis was that even with everything on the trem arm post tightened down, the entire apparatus moved. I had to disassemble the post, reassemble, and use Loc-Tite on the nut to secure everything.

I took my Floyd off last night and dealt with this issue. I did have to add a washer to mine. It actually looks like the original washer was compressed too much or something. Either way, it just wasn't big enough to allow everything to fit together snug. So I added a washer and some blue loctite for good measure and now it is totally solid!
