Im really wanting a 7 string guitar again. So Im thinking of the JP7. I used to have a JP 6 and the neck was too thin for me. :(
Is the JP7 just as thin? If thats the case how is the EBMM Baritone neck? Right now I have a 2009 Silo and Im in love with that neck shape!!!!

I'd say the JP6 neck is close to the Ibby Wizard II neck, except the JP has a little more meat (rounder at the shoulders), and not so tiring to play on.

The JP7 neck is rather thin. It's thicker than an Ibby Wizard 7, but not by much. The profile is a bit rounder, but it's still pretty flat since it's wider to count for the low B. I love the JP7 neck. It's not too thin like an Ibby and it's not too thick like a Schecter (baseball bat!).

What about the baritone? If I got it Id like to tune it down to E. Anyone have one and try that? What guage strings did you have to use? 16-90?

Man! E would be LOW. I'd think you'd have trouble with the guitar at that point. The nut would need to be filed for the wider strings. You'd have issues with strings fitting the locking tuners. It would take a lot of work to get it set up right. Strings that thick weren't meant for a guitar.

You sure you don't want a Bongo? ;)

Call me crazy or ignorant, but I think tuning the JP baritone to an E tuning would be OK. It has a long enough scale length I think to do that OK. I'm no luthier or tech, though. Now if it was Silo Baritone, that'd be perfect, as it is listed as one of the factory tuning options. The JP Bari scale length is shorter but still longer than a normal guitar. If you were trying to tune a normal guitar down anywhere past C I'd say you were nuts.
