Really? Are these things worth the money if you don't play professionally (don't make money from playing)? Do you think that purchasing a guitar such as this would make me a better player? Does anyone who purchased one have any regrets or wish they had bought another EBMM model?
Thanks,

Dude,

I have zero regrets, I do not play professionally, nor am I some KA guitarist, just an average dude who plays guitar as a hobby, I found cheap gear sucks and MM makes the best guitars, the 20th is just out of this world, looks great ,feels great, sounds great, and since it is a limited edition is a valuable collectors peice as well, the only way to know is either play one or trust the opinions of those who own them, my only regret would have been not listening to Big Poppa and Pete D when they said hands down best ever and quote " Fing you had better hurry and buy one":D

I own a 20th and have owned a couple of JP6s, an Axis and a Y2D. They all sound and play different and are all great guitars. The 20th is unique because it offers a variety of tones in a single package. It has the low end characteristic of something like a Les Paul yet can sparkle like a Strat or Tele. Most guitars that attempt to have both these characters are complete disasters. It is hard to describe; although the 20th doesn't mimic the sound of the Les Paul or Strat, it can reproduce the important character of those sounds in a way that is really pleasing and useable. Unfortunately any attempt to compare the 20th to other guitars really does the 20th a diservice. But that's about as close as I can get to explaining why the 20th is a great guitar.

So, the 20th is perfect if you need to cover a lot of bases. It's a great recording guitar too. The JP6, Axis and Y2D are less flexible in my opinion. But, for example, if you want that high gain tone of Petrucci then the JP6 will get you closer. This is why I oscillate between keeping the 20th and getting a JP6 instead, depending on the type of music I am playing.

Hey thanks....it's really good to hear that.............cuz I just pulled the trigger:D . I called my local GC and the guys placing the order for me right now. I've got the GC card, so I figured what the hell. Besides, with no payments & no interest for 12 mos. (ends tomorrow), + a 30 day return policy, what have I got to lose? I'm excited. They are going to ship it directly to my house. Let's see what happens.
Thanks man.

Excellent choice !!!! (I see it took you all of 19 minutes to make up your mind - nice work)

It will probably take about 30 seconds of playing to realise that you will never regret the choice, you won't even need to think about the 30 day return policy, and that although it won't magically make you a better player, you'll never have a better time playing a guitar.
Versatility, tone, looks, feel, exceptional quality - it has it all and you'll love it.
Congratulations.......

you gonna be very surprised...the 20 th sounds like no HH solidbody I've heard before...it would be something like a 335 under extacy...very very versatile, I recorded a full song with it today...50 tracks of 20th, different sounds and texutres...I really think this guitar is a "chef d'oeuvre"...I hope poppa will make a regular model close to it one day..

Your comparison to the 335 is, I think, a very good description. The guitar absolutely nails Larry Carlton's tone on Steely Dan's "Don't Take Me Alive." Of course, it's very versatile too. There are so many great tones in that guitar. I brought mine into the Amp Lounge, Bruce Egnater's store. Frank LaMara who works with Bruce said about the sound, "That's rockin'!"

Yes sir! Same one. I don't really have a description of the guitar......don't know if it's quilt or flame, rosewood or maple..........& I'd like to keep it that way until I get it...........kind of like a little suprise for myself.
I was told that the guitar is in excellent/perfect condition with a possible string change needed........I would think for the total they are charging me that they would offer to change the strings, but they haven't............yet.
It should arrive by next week. I am excited. I've been working my butt off lately & feel I rightly deserve this guitar.
I was going to buy one almost a year ago (last June). When I called Pete to order it, he has out to lunch. That evening, wife & went to a dance recital. With some time to kill before the presentation, I popped into a local guitar shop & picked up a Parker Fly Mojo for $1699 new (only bought it because I felt that was a great price), but I kept the 20th in the back of my mind for a long time. Sold the Parker to help pay for some medical procedures.......& am currently having a local luthier build me a guitar (all mahogany body, set-neck, stainless steel frets, BG pickups). However, I have serious doubts about the craftsmanship.....still thinking 20th (why, oh why didn't I buy the 20th).
Your post was the one, dude. Knowing there were only a few unsold left, I knew I had to act this time...........I've waited long enough. I deserve this guitar.
