Never played the MM90's yet, but bands like Social Distortion use P90's for a hotter single coil sound that I love. Should be a good fit with the right amp.

I recently experienced how awesome the MM90s are at about anything you throw their way...as for the punk thing I can promise that you'll be just fine with an ASS MM90!

Pretty bad I guess:

a) It stays in tune. That's pretty damn un-punk, if you ask me.
b) It's too expensive and too fine an instrument to break after a gig.
c) Unless you've stolen the guitar, no one will ever take you seriously. Every true punk will hate you and spit on you for being able to afford a fine instrument.

hehe menvafaan the punk style i like is pop punk or punk rock or whatever you want to call it , i was wondering because the only band i know wich plays a music man axis is bowling for soup ( when i met them i met earnie ball ), you should see the custom guitar that jaret plays, i love it. anyway the punk i like is the one played by bands like blink-182, Bowling for soup, the offspring, allister, etc... even green day.

and to phatduckk, the reason why i got the guitar first was the one that i'm not from USA , i live on chile in south america, and my grandmother was in spain, and we saw in ebay a guy selling the guitar ( on ebay.es, guitar_sales was the name of the man or shop wich was selling it ) and he said he was able to send it to spain so we took the chance ;) ( this is the guys Music Man AXIS ELECTRIC GUITAR Blue FLAME MINT W/Floyd en venta en eBay.es (finaliza el 17-jul-09 23:12:03 H.Esp) , he was sending to europe so it was a very good chance )

now can some1 explain what are the advantages of registeering the guitar on the site??

thanks guys for the answers and srry for my english!!!

It is NOT the guitar...it is the player. Simple as that. So, to answer your question....it is great for punk.

The punk you're talking about is sort of "this end" of punk. I play some of that myself (blink 182, LIT, Greenday....and Joan Jett, which I feel is in the same vein). The MM90's work fine. The hums on the Axis are a bit hot for that...but can work backing down the volume before going into the amp.

dude the guitar will be fine for punk. i promise!

I play a lot of punk and an MM90 will work perfect. I mean, Billie Joe uses Les Paul Jr's with p90 so if you like his new sound (American Idoit sound) you'll be able to nail it.

Also as someone mentioned Mike Ness in Social Distortion uses P90 equipt guitars quite a bit.

So have no fear you'll be able to get what you want out of that guitar

You forgot ...
d) punk definitly sounds better on guitars with solid colors and lots of stickers allover.

Pretty bad I guess:

a) It stays in tune. That's pretty damn un-punk, if you ask me.
b) It's too expensive and too fine an instrument to break after a gig.
