sorry, i forgot to introduce myself. before. i'm shaver from Connecticut. i have a sterling 4 and a fender jazz...yeh thats about all my life has to say.

How do you like the sterling? Is it good for rock sounds?

yeh, my god its amazing, i play alota funk slap/ rock..kinda like the red hot chili peppers, but i use alota harmonics like jaco, and alot more slap rythms like wooten, but i do play alot rockesh heavy stuff too and it sounds amazing...i didnt wanna go with the sting ray casue the neck was just to wide and i wanted the pick up selection. check out my band, so u can get an idea of what i sound like .. http://www.purevolume.com/tnjs ... these are 3 songs that portray the 3 different styles we have on our full length. but the bass u hear on cd is my jazz, i hadnt goten the sterling yet, but what ever

Cool, I will check out your band. I'm debating between the sterling and the bongo. I'm torn. I love the thin neck on the sterling but when I heard the bongo it seems to have a really fat sound. I use harmonics in my playing also. I love jaco & flea. But this band is pop/rock so I need a fat sound. Did you check out the bongo?

Nice to meet you Shaver. I've played some gigs with a band based out of New Halen...er... I mean New Haven , they're called Ten Shekel Shirt, good guys they also mentioned a local New Haven band called Purple something or something Purple.... the name has Purple in it somewhere and they're suposed to be quite the rockers... anywho, good to have ya here!

yeh ten sheckle shirts, we've done a few shows with them...and your thinking of the Mighty Purple, some of our best friends....we've sold out the venue the guitarest from mighty purple owns 3 times...also the lead guitarest from migty purple toured with ten sheckle for a while...good times
