Hey Danny, I just replaced the original tuners on my 93 Sterling with a HipShot Ultralites set.

They helped to solve the neckdive problem I had with that bass.
It got perfectly balanced now. I just like the picture so I decide to put on my avatar.
I kept the original tuners just in case.

I had to do that mod. My Sterling has the best neck I've ever played, but I always found the bass lacks in balance. Now is just perfect.
StingRays don't have that problem IMO.

Man, that Sabre turned out great! I was buying some parts today on Bass Parts Resource and came across a 3 bolt neck plate - hadn't seen this before on their site, so could be a more recent addition. Just an FYI in case anyone else is looking for a 3-bolt plate. Of course, I have no idea if it matches up to the old MM plates or if the MM plates are the same size as F#$% or not.

Thanks bradfordws, but the Fender 3 bolt does not match with MM necks.
I've tried that.

Thank you so much for those sound examples! Phantastic!!! I've been looking for good sound examples comparing Sabre settings for quite some time now!

PS: I forgot to add -- great playing!
