hey guys.

Is there anyway to get a Dual coil MM pickup (Without the ghost coil) To work with a 2001 SR5 pre which is designed to work with a triple coil pup.

What wiring should i use? I dont mind the pup humming in the single coil position as i dont use it anyway. However for completest sake, i would prefer it not to hum.

Has anyone got a diagram?

Cheers. Rob.

The easiest way I know of is to buy a dual pickup stingray 5, and keep the 2001 as it is.

Take a look here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/products/basslines/501040-110.pdf

I know it's possible but i cant remember how to do it.

Dont worry about it guys, I have it installed. Its wired like the early 90s and before MM5's Where the Middle position is really quiet and dark (As only one coil is working) The Bridge position Is classic parrelel sound and the neck position is really bright and loud.

This is how you do it.

Red to pre-amp Red

Green to pre-amp Green

White to pre-amp White

Black to pre-amp Shield

But remember it will be very unbalanced sound levels when switching between the positions. Just like the old MM5s.
