I've got a Shure SM57 in front of marshall amp.
I've got all the guitar effect I need already. (don't want to use multi effect processor unit.)
I play the backing track with my pc.

How can I record my guitar with the backing track and mixiing them to record on my PC?
What should I use?

Should I buy the Lexicon Alpha USB Audio Interface ?
Or anything else?
Thanks.

How 'bout this one?
M-Audio FireWire Solo Mobile Audio Interface
I heard Firewire is better than USB interface.

Well, basically what you need is an audio interface (PCI, USB or firewire, I recommend firewire) and recording software. For now. :D

If you just want to get it done as quick as possible, get a cable than can connect your SM57 with your soundcard.

If you want something a bit more serious, you'll need an interface with a preamp (or if you can afford a separate preamp, that's great) so you can connect your microphone to it. It all depends on your budget and what you want from it. I needed something that will have a preamp, a headphones output, USB with external housing. I got an E-MU 0202 USB interface for a little over $100. I'm satisfied with it.

About the recording process, you open the recording software, like Cubase. Add a stereo audio track, then file > import > audio file, then browse through your folders and choose the backing track. When that's done, add another track, which will be your guitar track, press the Record enable button on the guitar track, and start recording! :)
