Hi Guys,

the only reason why my 20th doesnt see so much stage than JP or ASS is cause i need that middleposition sound like JP has (splitcoilsound)
so and heres my question.
1) is it possible to rewire?
2) how can i do that.
i have a hardtail 20th w/piezo

Yes, you can do it. You'll need a 4PDT switch like the Petrucci, though.

Best bet is to order a switch from EBMM. Ask them for a copy of the Petrucci wiring diagram, too, and then just follow it. Dimarzio also has that diagram on their site, but the EBMM one includes the circuit board they use on their switches.

Alternatively you could put in a push-pull coil tap pot. I did that. This gives the added benefit of single coil sounds in the bridge and neck position.

You know, the WEIRDEST thing just happenned. Anyone remember that fiasco I went thru for my 20th wiring issue? Beej, I'm sure you remember it.

Thing is, now the middle position sound like an inbetween position on a strat. And I'm using a PAF Joe and a Steve's Special. It's really nice. It's also SOFTER than the hums, and I think my wiring may be incorrect still, but it's damn nice... heheheh... I don't know what happenned, but I ain't screwing with it now...

I don't think you can get the switch from CS. the JP switches are all PC board stuff on the back.

You can get a 4PDT switch from DiMarzio and Allparts, DiMarzio even has a wiring diagram for the sound you're looking for.

However, you can't use the DiMarzio diagram on the Allparts switch. The connections aren't the same - you'll have to use a multi-meter to determine the connections on the Allparts switch.

How do I know?

I tried.

Yeah, there are a few different varieties of 4PDT on/on/on switches. But I would have thought the JP one would be ideal- the PC board just makes it easy to solder the connections, it's still relatively small. I'm with Auge though, I find it tough to use push/pulls live.
