I am curious to know if there are any other significant markings, on headstock name, or perhaps some other key indication if a Sterling AX40 have the custom wound DiMarzio's or not besides the sticker. Looking at these new, it's pretty obvious, but locating one (say if the sticker were removed) how else could one tell by sight? Removing pickups or playing it might be a sure sign, but are there any key features that the AX40D will show?
thanks

Hi Dr. S Dimarzio pickups have triangular feet. I think the non Dimarzio pups in the AX40 has rectangular feet.

The pickup routes should be triangular instead of square. That's one of the details I noticed right off the bat with the newer ones. They look very close to the real Axis except for the hardware.
