Hey, I've finally decided to put Suhr FL pickups in my Silo Spec, and a Suhr SSV in the bridge!

I have never switched out the stock pickups in a guitar before. What is the best way to do it? I have some questions that I need to sort out:

* Is it easiest to buy a new pickguard and mount them to the new pickguard and just switch it, or is it just as easy to use the same pickguard?
* I have heard some talk about "clip ons" or something on EBMM's, what's up with that?
* If I switch from the stock pickups, will I still be able to use the Silent System?
* Is it easy to change so that the middle position is the middle pickup on it's own?

Thanks,
Sebastian

You will need to use the neck and bridge pickups from the FL set, in order to use the silent circuit - the pickups need to be the same polarity and electric phase for the SC to work.

Yes, standard strat switching? Just dial up the diagram from Duncans website, and remember to convert the wire color codes.

Take pictures of the wiring before you start just in case you mess up.

Ask me how I know
