1.) I enjoy the EB Hybrid Slinky strings (2222 / .009 - .046) on my Ibanez JPM. It took a little bit of setup time with the bridge and springs, but they work well and I love the feel.
I know that the EBMM JP6 from the factory has RPS-10 Slinkys (10-46). How much work will it take to setup my JP6 to use the Hybrid Slinkys? Is it difficult? I just received my JP6 yesterday, so I haven't taken it apart and looked at its inner workings yet.
2.) I have a John Connolly Epiphone Les Paul that is designed for heavy strings. The guitar has a brass nut with wide string channel guides. I tune this guitar down to C and use D'Addario EJ22s on it (.013, .017, .026, .036, .046, .056)
. I was considering replacing this Epiphone with a plain jane JP6, but I'm concerned about the compatibility between the heavier strings and the stock, unmodified nut on the JP6. What's everyone else doing? Anyone know what JP did with his EBMMs during ToT?
3.) And to tie in with the above question; I know this is the guitar section of the site, but any chance of getting the EB "Jazz" sets RPS-ified?
I'm guessing they haven't been added to the RPS line due to the wound G string.
4.) RPS 7 string sets?
