So, let's just say you found a new 25th in the configuration that you would want if you were going to buy a 25th. You originally had no intention of buying anything, in fact you are not really in buying mode. What price would you have to see to make you pull the trigger? USD.

Just curious......and also just checking the balance of my bank accounts. :)

If this is a taboo subject for the forum, let me know. I did say "hypothetical".

Guitar Center Platinum Room site has three, two flame top hardtails for around $1,565 and one really nice quilt top with trem for around $1,750 those prices are pretty amazing for NOS guitars and are probably close to their cost.

those are insane prices. I've been watching those too. My GC has 2 beautiful but not at these crazy low prices. Makes you wonder if that's a mistake.

The 25th with quilt top and trem is actually $1,735

When guitars stay in the store for over a year they reduce the price to almost cost just to move them for the room that they take up.

GC had a used one mislabeled as an Axis....at a used Axis price. I believe someone on this forum bought it a couple months ago. I believe it was a maple fingerboard. I thought about it.

Man, I played one today at the GC in Fairfax (Virginia) just like that middle one with the maple fretboard. The top was just like that and the neck was beautiful. Hardtail too....literally just like one but advertised for WAY MORE $. FYI, for those in the DC area, Fairfax also has a rosewood FB with hardtail and a quilt top with a rediculously flamed neck. Sadly, it too wasn't offered at these rediculous discounts.

one of my local gc's has a quilt maple trem at these stupid low prices. i almost told the guy to wrap it up without even touching it, but i didn't want to draw any attention to it before i could really make a decision. had to sleep on it. i'm liking the flame maple hardtail too!

oh the suspense.......!

Hypothetically - I would probably look at the quilt one in the for sale thread and make that guy an offer. His is in immaculate condition, and he's a great guy to deal with. :D

There's something really special about this guitar. Seriously. Basswood an openly resonant wood as it is.... is now chambered. Plus a mahog tone block and string through hard tail design....

I can feel the resonance on my gut when I play. Fingers, to string, to guitar body, reverberating into my sides. Totally not joking.

They are beautiful guitars if I had the funds for one I would totally go for it, especially with a deal like that

Slav you are king of GC, I was wondering when I was looking at the Platinum Balls including the 25ths and BFR JP's. Do they price them according to the finish as some were a couple of hundred more than others and the only thing I could make of it since they were all new that the better tops get hit with a higher price = is that how it works? If I did not own a wicked 25th -thanks Slave lol, I would be all over one of those for that price as last month they were $800 higher. You cant ask for more of a bargain than that!
