hypothetical question for jon

Hey Jon,

I was wondering what the offical EM/MM policy was on refinishing
guitars. Like if somebody bought this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2384&item=3776630952&rd=1

What would be the chances of sending it back to to the factory and
maybe restoring it to its former glory? Just curious.

PS: Don't look Raz as it is a SSS Silhouete! :D

Hahahahahahaha...too late...however if you search these forums you'll see that this guitar has been discussed many, many times as it has been for sale on Ebay, many, many times...tempting yes, but I smell something fishy...and it aint Raz's toes

no, Urk, it's you a**. :D

Seriously, I would say, though I am open for correction, that they MAY accept the challenge, and restore it back to how it left the factory. You would have absolutely no opportunity to change anything in regards to the options on said guitar, i.e. you can't add in a piezo if it didn't have it to begin with...if the book says A B and C, you get just that. No D, etc. added in.

I am open for correction, though...

Dude, it's a $1.00 with no reserve, Buy it, for a goof. hehe.

Seriously though, from the sounds of it, it's had more comebacks than Cats or Abba. :p Something must be wrong with it.

Scott.

Sure, send it to the factory!
If a custom order takes 3-5 months, then for them to repaint something that's not part of their production lineup..... well you should get it back in about..... 2 years!!! :D

The repair shop is entirely separate from the factory. People have sent bodys back for warranty work, replacement/repaint and had them come back within a month.
