Okay the group's sort of mentor and I sat down after service last Sunday (he commented on how my bass was "chunky" in the mix and needed to be more "bass like").
I can play my BigAL 4 but they'll miss those low Ds and Cs.

Play the Big Al and forget about those low notes, if the sound sistem doesn't have subs nobody will hear them anyway.

I love my SR5 BTW but mine is of the HH variety ;)

I'll try this next Sunday. I will (reluctantly) hand the bass to the mentor (he's good for roots and 5ths) while I listen in the congregation. For all I know this could just be a matter of taste.
