WAIT... Before you set the marksmen on the rooftops, when I say different I mean that it would still be an EBMM but, since I have all the "proper" bass gas covered (Bongo, 25th, Big Al and many other), I think that the one instrument which would perfectly complement my arsenal, would probably be one of those silohuette bass in the new colour and roasted neck specs.

Browndog, can you make a mock up please?

Before I set my heart pacing, does anyone know if the silo bass can be ordered in the "guinness" colours? :D

I reckon that would be "ace"

What do you say, guys 'n' girls?

I think that the silo bass is cool but it is more for a guitar player.....Have you ever played a Sterling 5?

Believe it or not I still haven't seen one in the flesh, strangely there doesn't seem to be that many of them in UK, never seen one in a store either. I did try a Sterling 4 unplugged at one of the uk shows and I loved the "J-bass" neck feel, but still never a 5er, is the Sterling 5 neck same as that of a Stingray 5's?

I'm just sayin'...

Remember how you and I have "spoken" about being mentally connected? Just before opening this thread, I told Mrs.sitonmybass that I had decided that tonight I'm going to play my Sterling 5 single H. Hopefully, I will have pics to post.

They sound like nothing else.

GET ONE! TRUST ME!

AFAIK the Sterling 5 neck is the same as the Stingray 5, except the Sterling headstock is a little shorter/smaller. And while pre-'08 Stingray 5s had ceramic magnets and Sterling 5s have the same, the latter still sound a bit brighter and more aggressive to me.

The best part of it is the slightly downsized body. I love SR5s, but the Sterling 5 is so, so comfortable!

The answer was given in the 2nd post already. BP doesn't recommend it as a businessman, he does it as a bass player.

Fran, given that you're in the process of sending your Bongo on an extended break away from Wazoo Towers, how about a ........................ Bongo 6

Talking of covering "proper" bass gas - I don't recall you mentioning a Stingray 4H?? Definitely a classic along with the P and Js.

Anyway enough of the suggestions, Sterling 5 sounds good to me ;)
