I am buying a Music Man Stingray from a friend that is a dealer and of course he plays them as well. The one I am buying is an older one, not sure how old, he did tell me once when I was at his house tonight but I just can't remember. It is one that he used on the road a lot and he is giving me a great deal on it.

The bass is white(not sure the exact name of the finish), shell pg, rosewood board, maple neck and headstock. And it is a 3band 4H. The neck is thinner than all the other Rays I have tried, and it plays and sounds awesome!

The only thing now is to figure out what kind of amp to get to play it through. Any ideas on an amp to get? My max budget for an amp will be $1200-$1600

I am so happy to finally be joining the list of Music Man owners. :D

Congrats from me, too!
I play my Ray through a preFender SWR rig. But they also sound great through the old Trace Eliot Commando I use to have at home.

Thanks Chuck, whats funny is that I just noticed a few minutes ago that the bass that I am buying from my friend looks like it could be one of the new Classics but I know it isn't. I do know one way yall could see what the bass looks like as there is a video on You Tube of my friend playing it live with he band he plays for. The only reason I have not posted the video or any of the pics he has of the bass is, I am not sure if he would want me to as of yet. But I will ask.
