Kinda funny start to this story off - My family and I have spent 2 weeks in Sunny Dubai, and whilst over here I made arrangements to meet up with fellow knucklehead Jonny Dubai. (I posted an earlier thread on our initial meet up including some pics/vid clips).
Before Jonny and I met, my wife made the remark that on that forum,I could be talking to anybody, and joked by saying that hecould be a mad axe murderer!!
Well Jonny turned out to be nothing of the sort and after our initial meet up we were able to get together again yesterday for "The Dubai Desert Classsic Part 2"
We spent a short time playing guitar and Jonny and I went to the outskirts of Dubai to a place called Karama, where I bought a Genuine fake Cartier Tank Watch - I think he was impressed by my bartering/haggling skills
We visited a local guitar shop where Jonny was instantly recognised by some of the local kids as the guitarist from "Sun King" and he was answering questions about the album he was recording - I had heard some rough mixes and was suitably impressed (Jonnny - stick me down for a signed copy?)
We then drove around and Jonny played me some music from guitarists that I had never heard of!!
He also played me a wicked Blues album by Kotzen - great stuff!
Anyways Jonny is flying back to Glasgow as I type this and I'll be heading back to Wales tomorrow.
So if any of you other mad axe murderers want to meet up for a beer and talk a load of "balls" - I'm up for it.
Thanks again Jonny - ummmm and it's my turn for the bar tab next time!!
