Kinda funny start to this story off - My family and I have spent 2 weeks in Sunny Dubai, and whilst over here I made arrangements to meet up with fellow knucklehead Jonny Dubai. (I posted an earlier thread on our initial meet up including some pics/vid clips).

Before Jonny and I met, my wife made the remark that on that forum,I could be talking to anybody, and joked by saying that hecould be a mad axe murderer!!

Well Jonny turned out to be nothing of the sort and after our initial meet up we were able to get together again yesterday for "The Dubai Desert Classsic Part 2"

We spent a short time playing guitar and Jonny and I went to the outskirts of Dubai to a place called Karama, where I bought a Genuine fake Cartier Tank Watch - I think he was impressed by my bartering/haggling skills ;)

We visited a local guitar shop where Jonny was instantly recognised by some of the local kids as the guitarist from "Sun King" and he was answering questions about the album he was recording - I had heard some rough mixes and was suitably impressed (Jonnny - stick me down for a signed copy?)

We then drove around and Jonny played me some music from guitarists that I had never heard of!!

He also played me a wicked Blues album by Kotzen - great stuff!

Anyways Jonny is flying back to Glasgow as I type this and I'll be heading back to Wales tomorrow.

So if any of you other mad axe murderers want to meet up for a beer and talk a load of "balls" - I'm up for it.

Thanks again Jonny - ummmm and it's my turn for the bar tab next time!!

Hey Now,

Your wife and my wife must think alike, before I met Keith my wife said "I hope you don't wake up in a bathtub full of ice and realize your kidney was removed":eek:

Glad to see you had some fun, it's very cool when you meet up with some fellow knuckleheads

Was that Bi-Polar Blues? Great album... Richie Kotzen has a ton of great albums by the way, pretty much all of his post-Shrapnel catalog is respectable. Except for the ones with Greg Howe (why, God? why? why would you make Richie record with Greg Howe? why??), but anyway, back to the topic... Great singer, good songs, fantastic guitar playing...

Nice to know the fellow forumites are not mad axe murderers, by the way.

I'd vote for one of you "I'll only ever buy, play and/or look at a natural headstock" guys. - Serious issues there.

Well we all know I'm a stalker, but not necessarily a murderer. :p
Correction on the headstock thing though. Axis and JP should have matching most of the time. I just don't like matching on the Silos and Als.
But you might want to keep an eye on Phatty though. He hates matching more than I. ;)

Richie Kotzen is amazing! I've seen him live a few weeks ago and his show was really awesome!
I'm glad you had a great time with Johnny and if any of you guys come by to Croatia, I'll be glad to meet you (I'm not a mad axe murderer btw :) ).

Back in the UK now :(

My nose is like a piece of leather - and peeling like mad!

Had a great time over in the Middle East and would recommend that place to anyone for a great holiday.

Glad to say the "Cartier Tank Watch" is still working!

Gotta get all unpacked and ready for the "New Job Tomorrow" :)

Was so good to meet up with Jonny - a great guitarist guys, and I hope things work out for him.

Great fun - we have to do it again sometime. :D
