Guys, i just bought a 69 super tremolo 100 for 650$ its a plexi with tremolo electronically. The most dynamic amp i have ever played. I plugged my petrucci into that sucker and dropped to D and played unchained, nails that tone dead on!!! My dad freaked cuz he could hear me down the block hahaha. its just got amazingly responsive attack and wonderful warm tone. cant wait until i can get the tremolo working. its beautiful clean and when you dig in its right there with the expressiveness that you expect in your minds ear. anyways... just sharing the love

God bless,

Tony

Good one :D

I love those old marshalls. I have an Plexi-based amp that a friend built for me, awesome electrician. It has EL84s and about 20 watts, but it still loud as hell  and that TONE !

the old plexi's and jmps from the 70's are my fave marshalls....jcm800's (single channels) are my 2nd favorites....the rest can eat it.

You got a great deal, those are way more expensive, congratullations, by the way at another forum they mentioned that the same model may be the one for Gun and roses Appetite for Destruction album and some other recordings after being modified by one person that still may do the job. At that price it may worth (if you look for that kind of sound of course), enjoy it!! :D

Ever try the rhythm channel of a 5150 combo with the gain cranked and crunch mode on.... very plexi-ish.

the 5150 combos are great little amps..they sound better than the heads, in my opinion..

glad your marshall sounds so good! I know there's a ton of recordings and guitar legends that have gotten great tones with them but everytime I plug into one of them in a guitar story, I ask myself 'WHY???'..lol...I can never get a decent tone outta them...maybe I just don't know what I'm doin' insofar as tweaking marshalls? who the hell knows =)

post some clips!

Off topic but, how many posts do you need to make before you lose the 'newbie' tag? Anyone know?
