While I'm waiting for my new JP that I've got on order, I decided to buy myself a new amp to play my Balls with for studio and home use.
I've heard the samples of this new 5w all-tube amp from Laney on their site and I was simply blown away by the sound this little fellow produces. It's from Laney's 40th anniversary Lionheart series.
It's got 5W of pure Class A tube power (3x 12ax7 preamp tubes and 1x EL84 power tube) and it's loud as hell for it's wattage. It's also heavy as hell (19 kg). It's got two channels, clean and drive. It's equipped with one 12" Celestion G12H speaker.

Here are the obligatory pictures - Laney L5T-112:

Congrats Ivan to that great sounding amp. I have checked this one out at the Musik-Messe in Frankfurt last spring. It's a killer amp tone.

Merry x-mas ;)

I have a VC-30...I'm not real fond of it, but that new one that Ivan has sounds GREAT!
Ivan...give us some of your sound clips with it when you get a chance.
Merry Christmas!

Those samples sound great.

When you say it's loud as hell, does this mean it's not actually that great for winding up at home but staying at manageable levels?

Bungo, you can crank it up more than you could with a 100w amp, that's for sure :p
But you can't expect to crank it up past 12 o'clock in your bedroom.

I've recorded a few clips. It's just my guitar straight into the amp (with the exception of Ibanez Tubescreamer TS808 added in for the lead sound sample).
No effects, no mixing or post EQing.
The volume on the amp is set to just 3 (it's Christmas time, the whole family is at home and I didn't want anybody screaming at me to turn it down).
All the samples were recorded with my JP. The microphone I used is Sennheiser e906.

Wow man, those are much better than the ones on the manufacturer site. What a great sounding amp that is!!!!!

AND I didn't realize that the JP was so versatile...that funk riff kicked!

I want one!

As far as volume goes, isn't a 100 watt tube amp only about 5 times louder than a 5 watter? I've taken a 5 watter to a practice before and they laughed at me, and later told me to turn it down. :D

I think it's even less. I know that 50W is 2 times louder than 5W and I think 100W is about 10% louder than 50W.

Ouch! That little bugger is expensive!

Yes, it is! It's 780 € (about 1139 US$) in Europe, but I actually got a great deal and bought it for 575 € (about 839 US$).
But I guess in the States it's a bit more because it's a European product.
I just checked Musician's friend and the price is just 999$ That's a pretty good price, but they say the list price is 1400$.
