BP? Shhhhhh.:D
Ok, since BP spilled the boston baked beans (roll that beautiful bean footage),
yes, GC went the extra mile to accomodate me. I was asked not to say anything for obvious reasons. They didn't have to contact me or offer me anything; they really didn't. BUT, they did. That says a lot about their committment to customer service.
So now you know.......the rest of the story.

Cool man. Glad to see it worked out for you.

It has to be tough on a business the size of GC. To criticize them is all too easy for some people. I honestly think the upper management wants to know if something is wrong or else they could not correct it. However, sometimes, things get run in the ground and people will dog pile on the problem to just vent. The CEO knows of some of the problems and is addressing them. But keep in mind, they as a company are HUGE. With that said, they addressed the problem darch had and put out an explanation here for all of us to see. That says alot to me personally. They did not push it down the line to someone else to "handle"...very cool.

He was quoted this price accidentally by a drum salesman.

Well ... there's your problem right there ... say no more :D

Really glad to hear how GC went the extra mile to make the customer happy. That's a great story and one that should be told again.

congrats

Congrats Darcin! What matters is the end result! GC stepped up!

Look, I said what I said & the way I said it for a reason & if you look back on the my post you will see that I was very calculating in what I said. I felt that a few feathers needed to be ruffled! and it worked! I am sorry if I offended anyone, but what matters is the end result. Darcin's got his guitar at a great price and that is why I posted the original you will thank me thread in the first place.

I knew that Big poppa would have Darcin's back. and hats off to GC. I still have to admit there expanation of a new guy took it upon himself to price the entire stock of Music man guitars way below retail price as "very odd" but if someone has to take the fall then it may as well be the "new guy"

Wow! Hats off to GC. Much new-found respect for GC from me. This is especially true after hearing Marty Albertson (did I get the name right?) at the Saturday-afternoon discussion back in Dallas. I have even more respect for GC now.

No, Big Poppa is the one with the pull, my little rant would have been nothing without your emails. I was just trying to draw attention to the situation. But the credit goes to you the manufacturer, for standing up for your end consumers, not your dealers. That takes a lot of guts in my book, and is a risky business move.

Most guitar companies would not have gone to bat for a single consumer the way ernie ball did.

Poppa, no harm, your the man. and I never had a problem w/ GC as a company. We all have had encounters w/ good and bad sales staff.

In my opinion the jury is still out on GC, but Ernie ball is a first class company, and this little situation and the quality of the guitar I am struming as I read this chat room is all the proof I will ever need.

There are a few GC's close to me and i've had a few experiences at the older store that left little to be desired; however, the newer store is one nice store. The customer service is top notch.
I've went into the acoustic room and was pulling 2-3k acoustics down and playing them with no hassle. I pulled electrics off the hooks and played 'em with no questions asked and everytime i go in i leave feeling good about the experience.
About a month ago i went into GC with my Pastor to purchase a full drumset for his 2year old son and there was some misunderstanding and parts were not included, but was made right the very next day, and everytime i go in i get great service.

My only complaint is that they don't stock the EBMM guitars... they have a few basses but no guitars as of yet.

I have said it before, but I'll say it again.. I don't see the problem with GC.... Get past the sales man and its a very nice store.. I've purchased many things from them, and will continue to do so, much to the dismay of my pocket book.......

Plus, I've always had great customer service from them!

Congratulations to "darchirnoj" for getting the guitar of his dreams; major kudo's to BP for his unique style of diplomacy; and thanks to all Ernie Ball forum members for your kind words and constructive criticism.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I love GC myself. I don't care if it's a chain instead of a "mom & pop" store. I like the fact that I can buy anything and if I don't like it, I can return it with no hassle whatsoever. Sure they don't carry boutique stuff, but for some stuff they are great.

I bought my first ball at a GC and now it's worth several thousand. Hooray for Rock Music!
