And I'm still in disbelief..

You guys here have got to be the most honest, friendliest and just plain down to earth people I've had the chance to uh, read I guess, on any type of forum, anywhere.

After a few weeks of reading and getting to know you.. I believe that it all starts from the TOP>>> with BP leading the way. His presence here shows he runs a great "Family" operation and cares about their customers....YOU guys! I was reading the thread about the "One of a kind Music Man" for Robelinda last year when my wife walked in asked why it looked like i was crying (yea, i'm a softie). I wouldn't imagine that the Fender's or Gibson's have done anything like that and in my (let's call it young 40 yrs.) and 17 years in the corporate world, I've never seen a company do that for an employee OR a customer. It's not only BP that's amazed me but you forum members as well. Any chance to help a forum member in need, and it appeared that you were there to help whether it was to lend a guitar or purchase one in the states and SHIP it abroad..

I'm a former drummer that's reached his midlife (call it a crisis if you want) and have decided to learn to play the guitar. I guess raising 2 kids will make you do crazy things. I'm an engineer by trade and love to research anything I buy. Because of you and EVERYTHING I've read elsewhere, I'm thinking I'll be "Just Fine" in buying an EBMM. After trying (It definitely wasn't Playing) a few different MM's, I've decided a new 20th SILO will fit the bill. I've found and ordered a new one from a dealer back east and now will have to wait.. Oh the wait... I know you all LOVE pics so I will post soon after i get it.

You guys should be proud of yourselves! You are a HUGE marketing arm of EBMM and you probably didn't realize it. I'm really looking forward to this new adventure..

Good choice on the 20th. You may end up with more than one. It's great here. Hope you stick around.

Wow Tim, Thanks a bunch. You thread title worked great...I thought what have I done now!

What kind of engineer are you?

Well, I think what you've done was create this wonderful little outlet that we can all run to and get away from our wives for a few minutes (haha).. And again.. I thank you! I've found myself on here several times a day the last few weeks.

I'm an electronics engineer by my training but I've been "unfortunate" to be in mgmt. the last 12 years and have lost some of the knowledge. I know after reading a few of Beej's and TommyinDE's techie post's, my skills (and memory) regarding electronics (modern and vintage) have diminished.

I couldn't agree more. When I got a new guitar, I didn't know that a community came with it. :D It's just another part of the reason that I'm now addicted to EBMM. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the forums. So you're a former drummer turning to guitar. So you're going to go from beating your skins to strumming your balls.:eek::rolleyes:;) Smart move. You're never too old to learn. You will not be disappointed with the 20th Silo....it's an amazing guitar.

We knew... We're all part of BP's Corporate Cost Cutting Measures... We were the result of the current outsourcing trend. That's why we get the first pick of really nice and well made guitars in return!:D

Welcome tim!

lol i have to admit that the title had me going... ;) i had a similar experience as you, i was a lurker around here for a long time (since i knew about John Petrucci in 06) and just loved how this forum is like a family. even before i owned a EBMM guitar i was posting on here, and was accepted into the family right away. now i have 2 EBMM guitars and will be joined by a 3rd late this year. and like you i have never seen any other guitar (or any company really) treat their customers with the upmost respect (which shows in the guitars they build).

oh and trust me on this, once you play an EBMM guitar you will not go back ;) they are addictive. :D

Welcome from another new forumite.
I have to agree on all points.
It is a great forum with the friendliest and most helpful people, and the best guitars!
I also went with the 20th as my first MM and have no regrets. It is a beautiful guitar and plays like a dream.

Welcome Tim,

As you've found out this place is different than most other forums out there. I infrequently frequent a few other places, and nothing compares. For the most part everyone checks their ego at the front door and just kicks back. There have been a few who've tried to stir it up but they don't last long.

I can almost guarantee that 20th won't be your last... Oh yeah and don't take any of the drummer jokes that pop up to heart... ;)
