Well, I was going to wait until the music video was done, but since the due date has been pushed back I decided to simply share this; A recording made last week using my Stingray. Not a complete mix, but pretty damn close if you ask me.

Comments are welcome.

Enjoy:D

PS: I'll update with video once it's completed if there's any interest.

if i may...work on this mix a little more (i'll only comment on what i don't like)

1. snare drum (the sound of it, NOT the playing) to loud, an not to "heavy" sounding

2. after the bridge part, where it's supposed to build up and explode, it actually doesn't, the vocals build up, but the guitars don't, and all i can hear is the stingray from that part on. the "hold on" part > "wake up" part...I'm missing mass in sound, not more playing

3. i'll probably get banned for this...but i'd "muffle" the Ray a little bit

excellent choice not to include a guitar solo

Try going wherever you can to listen to it on different speakers...the studio ones, a good hi-fi, a regular Hi-Fi, in ear headphones, computer speakers...

(i've listened on AKG K271 MKII + Yamaha MSP5 on TC, if it's relevant)

While I do appreciate the comments, I should add that I am not doing the mix. Sorry if this was misconstrued in the first post. I played bass and I did NOT do anything else.

That is a really great sounding recording.

I know that it has nothing to do with you but I think that your drummer's snare is too dead sounding. He might be benefit from tuning it higher to get a better "snap."

In the section from 2:43 on, the bass seems to be mixed a little too loud. Again, I know that you had nothing to do with mix. Just thought that it bared mentioning.

The song itself is great and I could easily hear it in heavy rotation on modern rock radio. Great stuff!!!

I can definitely hear the bass being too loud, now that it's been pointed out and I've listened. Like I said, it's not a complete mix, so it could or could not be remedied when it is completed (one can only hope :p)

The drums did not belong to the drummer, but another drummer who leaves his kit at school, and who helped us with recording the drums. I personally like the snare, but I can easily understand that it's not for everyone... plus most of the snares I've played with have been horrendous.

@funkymofo: Sorry, the hot Russians left last night :D

@five7: Unfortunately either zShare removed the listen-to-the-song-on-the-page feature, or I'm simply too dumb to know how to make it work... so a listen requires a download at the time being.

Hope none of this sounds highly defensive, not my intent, just trying to give some feedback to the comments/critiques.
